About Trusted Codes
Why Trusted Codes exists
In early 2025, a few weeks after OpenAI had made its video model Sora available to the public, our founder Stefan Sonntag watched clips of people who had never existed and could not tell them from real footage. His first thought: very soon you will not be able to trust anyone you meet online.
Then two scams happened in his own circle. His wife's company lost almost €100,000 to a forged business email. A mother he knows received a call in her daughter's cloned voice, asking for money after an "accident". The danger was real, and it was not limited to video calls.
Trusted Codes answers it with an old idea: the code word. Connected people see the same three words, the words change at a set interval, and no AI takes part in the check. The words match, or they do not.
Stefan has worked with enterprise software and its deployment for decades. He is not a programmer. He built Trusted Codes with AI, from strategy and design to code, testing and documentation, and every decision about what it must and must never do was his.
